Email, social media and phone scams are becoming increasingly common, and scammers are using more sophisticated tactics than ever. At the University of Oxford, phone, email and other cyber scam attempts are common. For example, scammers will contact students pretending to be family members, the authorities or another trusted entity. All students must take responsibility for their own cyber security and data privacy. Be sure to review the University of Oxford’s student cyber-security advice here.
Cyberstalking, online harassment and sexploitation are also a risk to students. The College’s Health, Wellbeing and Welfare Team and the University Sexual Harassment and Violence Support Service can provide support.
