Dining Services

Host your formal banquet, dinner, reception or celebration in our beautiful and historic Dining Hall, or plan a luncheon or more intimate gathering in the Senior Common Room Dining Room. Our friendly and professional Event Services can help you plan a perfect menu, complete with wine pairings from the College cellars.

The Dining Hall

The College Dining Hall is located in one of the three original buildings of St Peter's, known as Hannington Hall, which today occupies a site once home to New Inn Hall, one of the earliest medieval halls of the University of Oxford.

The Hall can seat up to 130 and makes an ideal setting for banquets, special dinners and less formal lunches.

Full-service or self-service meals can be served as requested. Wines from the College cellars can be served with lunch and dinner. Pre-dinner receptions can also be arranged.

Special dinners and banquets can be arranged with the Events Office, who will discuss the choice of menus together with suggested wines. Such functions have exclusive use of the Dining Hall.

Senior Common Room Dining Room

The College’s ‘Senior Common Room’ (SCR) Dining Room is available for private dining surrounded by St Peter’s collection of works by Bloomsbury artist Duncan Grant (1885–1978).

The Dining Room can seat from 20 to a maximum of 32 diners on our distinctive Arne Jacobsen Oxford Chairs. Bespoke menus can be created for any occasion from formal dinners and lunches to drink receptions with canapés.
