During their first year, all undergraduate students live in a room on the main College site, located on New Inn Hall Street. The compact nature of the St Peter's grounds means that each cohort of students soon makes friends with each other. Buildings that house first year students also provide every undergraduate with a place in which to escape the bustle of College life whenever they wish.

St Peter's can accommodate up to half of its second-year students. The other half of our second-year students 'live out,' letting private accommodation in the city of Oxford. Typically, these students rent a house with a group of their close friends. Some students appreciate the opportunity to live out so much that they choose to continue the arrangement in the third year, although there is no obligation to do so.
If you plan to 'live out,' the Oxford University Students Union (Oxford SU) provides guidance on living out and can help you with your questions or concerns about finding accommodation.
-
Rooms for third and fourth-year undergraduates are allocated by ballot. Some single-occupancy rooms are available on the main college site in the Hubert Perrodo Building (en-suite study-bedroom), Chavasse Building (study-bedroom with shared bathroom), Staircase III (en-suite study-bedroom with separate sitting room), or Staircase II (study-bedroom and sitting room with shared bathroom).
Other students live in one of the three recently built College annexes next to Oxford Castle, located five minutes’ walk from the main College site. All rooms in the annexes are en-suite study-bedrooms. First-year postgraduate students and visiting students also live in the annexes.
-
All Visiting Students are accommodated in College-owned accommodation, alongside the College’s third-year undergraduate students.
Postgraduate Accommodation
Some of our postgraduate students, with priority given to new first-years, live in College-owned accommodation, while many other students choose either University housing or privately rented housing.
-
St Peter's gives priority to the housing of postgraduates who are new to Oxford in College-owned accommodation. More information about how to apply for a room in college accommodation is provided when an offer of a college place is made to a postgraduate applicant.
As well as College-owned accommodation, the College has specific groups of allocated rooms within University-owned accommodation which are allocated to incoming postgraduate students.
