What should I expect at St Peter's College during Oxford Open Days?

First, remember that this is your time to picture yourself at Oxford! There is no right or wrong way to visit St Peter's College. You are welcome to drop in at any time with your family and friends and can check out any of our sessions detailed below. Student tours are available all day and tutors will be around to answer your questions. We offer information sessions, demonstration tutorials, and drop-in tutor meetings to help you discover more about our College. Plus, we will provide a full breakfast, our famous bar will be open (serving a special edition Cross Keys mocktail) and we will serve a substantial afternoon tea.

Do I have to book a tutor meeting in advance?

Our afternoon Tea with Tutors sessions are available for drop-ins, so there is no need to book!

Typical daily schedule

All day: student-led tours

Drop-in anytime to tour the College with a current student and get an insider's perspective on life at St Peter's and Oxford.

08:00 - 09:00: "Fuel up": breakfast in Hall

Fuel up for the day ahead on our cooked breakfast, in our beautiful dining hall, while chatting about college life with some of our friendly and helpful current students.

09:00 - 09:45: Application "top tips" + Oxford: the SPC edition

Hear from current students, the Head of College and the Access and Outreach Coordinator.

This session is designed to help you: (1) understand and navigate the admissions process; and (2) get a feel for St Peter’s College as a place in which to live and study. Tutors and students will be on hand to answer questions.

12:30 - 13:30: Demonstration interview (Mathematics)

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the demonstration interview.

14:00 - 15:00: Demonstration interview (PPE - Philosophy and Economics)

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the demonstration interview.

15:30 - 16:45: Meet the tutors/afternoon tea (drop-in)

St Peter’s tutors from many subjects will be available to chat and answer questions. Session fuelled by mini-sandwiches, cake and tea/coffee. Check out all our courses here.

Refreshment stations

10:00 - 15:30: Tea, coffee and soft drinks

Drop into College anytime to take a break and recharge with a cup of tea or soft drink.

11:00-17:00: Soft drinks at the SPC Bar

Check out the College Bar and enjoy soft drinks with current and fellow prospective students.
