Open Day

We look forward to welcoming you to our centrally located college. St Peter’s is an inspiring place to study. We are famously friendly, notably supportive and have a vibrant and inclusive community life. We very much enjoy meeting prospective applicants.

Alongside our Open Day sessions, we will be serving a full breakfast and a substantial afternoon tea. You are welcome to drop in at any time (student tours available all day; tutors on hand to answer questions), but feel free to plan your visit around our scheduled sessions and/or our refreshment moments to help fuel your day. See programme below.

Open Day Programme

Student-led tours are available throughout the day.

08:00–09:00: "Fuel up": breakfast in Hall

Fuel up for the day ahead on our cooked breakfast, in our beautiful dining hall, while chatting about college life with some of our friendly and helpful current students.

09:00–09:45: Application "top tips" + Oxford: the SPC edition

Hear from current students, the Head of College and the Access and Outreach Coordinator.

This session is designed to help you: (1) understand and navigate the admissions process; and (2) get a feel for St Peter’s College as a place to live and study. Tutors and students will be on hand to answer questions.

09:50-11:00: Brunch in Hall

For those in need of a mid-morning pick-me-up, brunch will be available in the Dining Hall. Do drop in to grab some coffee, a pancake or a waffle.

12:30-13:30: Demonstration interview (English)

An experienced English tutor conducts a demonstration interview with a current student to give the flavour of an Oxford admissions interview and the types of questions that may be asked.
Although the content for the demonstration interview this year will be English, this session could also potentially be useful for other Humanities and Social Science-based subjects.
There will be a Q&A session for those attending at the end of the demonstration interview.

14:45-15:30: Application "top tips" + Oxford: the SPC edition [repeat session]

Hear from current students, the Head of College and the Access and Outreach Coordinator.

This session is designed to help you: (1) understand and navigate the admissions process; and (2) get a feel for St Peter’s College as a place to live and study. Tutors and students will be on hand to answer questions.

15:30–16:45: Meet the tutors/afternoon tea (drop-in)

St Peter’s knowledgeable and approachable tutors from many subjects will be available to chat and answer questions. Session fuelled by mini-sandwiches, cake and tea/coffee.

You can also explore our website. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at schools@spc.ox.ac.uk.
