More

Some of our postgraduate students, with priority given to new first-years, live in College-owned accommodation, while many other students choose either University housing or privately rented housing.

College accommodation

St Peter's gives priority to postgraduates who are new to Oxford when allocating College-owned accommodation. More information about how to apply for accommodation is provided when a College offer is made to a postgraduate applicant. College accommodation for postgraduates is a short, five-minute walk from College, located in the historic Oxford Castle quarter. As well as College-owned accommodation, the College has specific groups of allocated rooms within University-owned accommodation that are allocated to incoming postgraduate students.

University accommodation

There are two ways in which postgraduates can be allocated University accommodation: either via your College or directly through the University.

If you have applied for College accommodation, you may be offered a University-owned and managed room instead of a College lease. In 2026-2027, these rooms will be located in Castle Mill (single, ensuite rooms) or in 143 Walton Street (single, standard rooms).

Oxford University offers other conveniently located graduate accommodation for single students, couples and families, which you will need to apply for separately. Visit the Oxford University graduate accommodation website for more information on availability, location, price and application details.
