St Peter’s College Choir to tour Liverpool and Isle of Man

The Choir of St Peter’s College, University of Oxford will be on tour in Liverpool and the Isle of Man this summer. Students will perform at the Prescot Festival of the Arts, provide choral music for multiple religious services across the region and participate in choral outreach work on the Isle of Man.

From Friday 27 June through Sunday 29 June, the Choir will be in the Isle of Man. They will conduct a Q&A session followed by a Chapel service and short concert at King William’s College school on Friday, participate in an open rehearsal for the Isle of Man's community of singers on Saturday and sing Evensong at Peel Cathedral on Sunday at 3pm.

In Liverpool, the Choir will sing the mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King on ­­Monday 30 June at 5pm and Evensong at the Anglican Cathedral on Tuesday 1st July at 5.30pm. On Thursday 3 July, they will perform in concert at the Prescot Festival of the Arts at 6pm.

The 2025 Choir Tour is generously supported by funding from the Isle of Man Arts Council and Vaculug.

About the Choir of St Peter's College, University of Oxford

The Choir of St Peter’s College Oxford is one of the finest mixed-voice choirs in the University. It comprises around 30 auditioned students studying a range of subjects, some of whom hold choral scholarships generously supported by alumni and friends of the College. The Choir has an established reputation in Oxford, and further afield, for its choral excellence, diverse repertoire, and collegiality. This year, the Choir released their first recording made under the baton of Director of Music Quintin Beer, Fresh stone: Music by Piers Connor Kennedy (Acclaim Productions). 

About Quintin Beer

Quintin Beer has been Director of Music at St Peter’s since 2021. He obtained his MA in Choral Conducting from the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Patrick Russill and graduating with a distinction in July 2019. He was awarded the DipRAM, the Academy's own premier-prix for an outstanding performance in a final recital. Previously, he studied music at St John’s College Cambridge, where he held a choral scholarship in the world-famous College Choir. In addition to his role at St Peter’s, Quintin is Director of Music at St Cuthbert’s Church, Earl’s Court, and has a freelance career as a conductor. He has worked with a range of ensembles and festivals, including the BBC Singers, Ex Cathedra, the Grange Festival, the St Endellion Festival, the Britten Sinfonia, the Brook Street Band, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
