On 6 March 2023, Dr Vlad Mykhnenko, Research Fellow in Sustainable Urban Development at St Peter’s College and a Ukraine specialist, joined the former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko (2005-2010) to discuss the present and future of Ukraine.

On 6 March 2023, Dr Vlad Mykhnenko, Research Fellow in Sustainable Urban Development at St Peter’s College and a Ukraine specialist, joined the former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko (2005-2010) to discuss the current state of affairs and the future of Ukraine almost two decades since the Orange Revolution.

The event at Brasenose College was co-hosted by the Oxford International Relations Society, Oxford University Ukrainian Society and the St Antony’s International Review (STAIR). During the conversation, President Yushchenko considered the international position of Ukraine in the context of the ongoing Russian invasion and the legacies of the Orange Revolution.

Hundreds of students and academics turned up to hear the panellists discuss the current state of Ukraine and ways to envision a future for Ukraine. Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Dr Mykhnenko has been a frequent expert voice in media interviews, panels and articles on Ukraine.
