Dr Marc Macias-Fauria has been interviewed for expert comment on BBC Radio 4's '39 Ways to Save the Planet'

Dr Macias-Fauria is an ecologist who focuses on cold environments. His research is mostly directed at understanding the coupling of physical and biological systems (biogeoscience). He employs long-term ecological records and modelling to understand ecological and biogeographic processes as they are constrained by the physical environment.

In the episode, 'Siberian Rewilding', Dr Macias-Fauria discusses some of the main concepts behind the idea of restoring the mammoth steppe to keep permafrost cool.
