Dr Peter Kail has published The Routledge Guidebook to Hume’s A Treatise of Human Nature (Routledge, 2025). The eighteenth-century Scottish empiricist philosopher David Hume is considered one of the most important philosophers to have written in the English language, and his A Treatise of Human Nature of 1739/1740 is seen as his greatest and most influential work. Dr Kail’s new Guidebook is an introductory text, intended to assist readers who are less familiar with the key themes in A Treatise of Human Nature.
