Art thrives at Peter’s. Each year the student art representative (‘Arts Rep’) organises an Arts Week that offers a series of exciting and lively events, usually including drawing classes, artists’ talks, gigs and dancing.
The college also boasts a student-run art magazine, MISC, and is very fortunate that it can support student initiatives in art, music, drama, film, etc., through its very own Arts Fund made up of general donations by alumni.
There are opportunities to write for college publications, while the St Peter's Drama Society organises productions every term with new actors, playwrights and stage-hands.
St Peter’s has one of the largest groups of music students in the University. They naturally tend to provide the main thrust of the musical energy, but activity is by no means restricted to this group and it is a welcome feature of college life that music extends across the disciplines.
The college has good music facilities, including two grand pianos, its original chapel organ, and a harpsichord, as well as ample practice space. The Music Society puts on concerts regularly. The mixed chapel choir, made up of choral scholars and volunteers, sings regularly in chapel services and also tours both in the UK and Europe.
