College Accountant

St Peter’s College is seeking to appoint a College Accountant. The post holder will head up the College’s Finance Office and be responsible for the organisation and performance of the College’s accounting systems and processes as well as play an active role in the initiation and implementation of longer-term strategic and financial plans.

You will also have in-depth experience of preparing financial reports and commentaries and of the full range of financial operations, as well as budgetary control and managing and developing a Finance Office. The post holder will be expected to build and maintain close and effective working relationships at all levels, and especially to build a relationship of trust with the Bursar. The post will be attractive to those who are keen to build on their strong accountancy skills and grow into a management role.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are absolutely essential: the post holder will be in regular contact with the Master, fellows, students, alumni and prospective donors, as well as third parties within the collegiate University and beyond.

Appointment will be on Oxford University academic-related grade 10, £55,750 to £64,605 p.a. The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 9 December 2019.

Casual Dining Hall Assistants (Waiting Staff)

St Peter’s College wishes to build up a pool of casual staff to work in our Dining Hall and Servery at busy times of the year, and particularly during our summer conference seasons.

Applicants must polite, friendly, reliable and well-presented. All of our waiting staff must be able to work to a high standard of cleaning and hygiene. Previous experience of working in a catering environment is essential, although further training will be provided if necessary.

In return we offer £9.00 per hour, a free meal on duty, and the opportunity to gain exceptional catering and hospitality experience.

Applicants should be able to work mainly evenings and weekends on a flexible casual basis.
