Susanne Hodgson is a Research Fellow and Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at St Peter’s College. She is also as Associate Professor in Vaccinology and Infectious Diseases based at Jenner Institute and the Oxford Vaccine Group.
Teaching
Susanne teaches clinical skills to both undergraduate and graduate entry students at St Peter’s College and provides pastoral support. She has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education at the University of Oxford and is a DPhil supervisor.
Research
Susanne Hodgson is a clinician scientist with experience in early-phase vaccine development and efficacy testing in the UK and low-income settings. She has a special interest in experimental medicine and controlled human infection studies to assess vaccine efficacy and natural immunity to infection. She currently leads the Gonococcal Vaccine Project at the Jenner Institute and the Gonococcal Human Challenge Programme at the Oxford Vaccine Group. She is Chief Investigator of the 'Improving Outcomes in Necrotising Otitis Externa (IONOE)' Study (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04950985).

Susanne is a practising physician specialising in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases with an interest in complex surgical infections.
