About

I am a Lecturer in Neuroscience at St Peter’s College. I obtained a Medical Degree from the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in conjunction with a Research Master’s in Neuroscience. Currently, I am in the final stages of obtaining a DPhil degree in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford.

Teaching

I have been involved in undergraduate teaching and laboratory supervision at the Erasmus Medical Centre, as well as at the University of Oxford. During my DPhil studies, I had the opportunity to become an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), which further strengthened my teaching skills. Currently, I tutor undergraduate students in neuroscience at St Peter's College.

Research

My previous research has focused on the myelination of GABAergic interneurons in the human and rodent brains. My current studies are centred around the organisation of inhibition in the hippocampus, a brain region critically involved in learning, memory, and spatial navigation. In the future, I aim to apply state-of-the-art neuroscience techniques to contemporary clinical challenges.
