On Saturday 2 March 2024 four St Peter’s College students will represent the dark blues at 141st men’s and 36th women’s Varsity Matches.
On the women’s side, forward Zoe Guy (Earth Sciences, 2021) is no stranger to the Oxford-Cambridge rivalry, having represented the women’s side for Oxford at both the 2022 and 2023 matches. Zoe is joined this year by fellow St Peter’s student Beth Thomas, a second-year biologist on the women’s reserve team.
Jack Glover (MSc Sustainable Urban Development, 2022) is Captain of the men’s side, competing against Cambridge alongside fellow St Peter’s student Michael Fankah (Economics and Management, 2022). Jack and Michael, both starting forwards, were also in the starting line-up of the 2023 Varsity Match.
The students said in their joint announcement, ‘The special part of the Oxford college system is that it allows you to not only play Uni sports but also represent your college in a more sociable, but nonetheless extremely competitive environment. Some of the best memories we’ve had at Oxford have been playing St Peter’s rugby and the close college friendships we have formed throughout the years.’
