Dr Nick Talbot
Non‐Stipendiary Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences
Dr Nick Talbot is a Research Fellow and Non‐Stipendiary Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences. His research interests include cardiovascular and respiratory responses to low oxygen levels (hypoxia), the interaction of systemic iron and oxygen homeostasis, and non-invasive assessment of lung function.
Before coming to St Peter’s, he completed a BA and DPhil in Physiological Sciences at University College and was awarded his medical degree (BM BCh) from Magdalen College. Until recently he was an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
He now combines research and teaching as a Departmental Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics with clinical work as a Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He is responsible for the teaching of systems physiology to the undergraduate Medicine and Physiology students at St Peter’s.
