Mr Abel Beregi

Abel’s research is focusing on using ultracold atoms for quantum simulations. By novel experimental techniques, it is possible to create flat, pancake-shaped clouds of atoms. These systems are predicted to exhibit superfluid behaviour under a critical temperature while they behave as normal fluids above this temperature. These two phases are connected by the BKT phase transition, which is the main focus of Abel’s work in the research group of Prof Christopher Foot.
