Last Friday, Dapo Akande, Yamani Fellow and Tutor of Public International Law at St Peter's and Professor of Public International Law, was interviewed on the BBC World Service programme, Newshour.

Prof Akande, who has varied research interests within the field of general international law, was commenting on the decision to allow the International Criminal Court to have jurisdiction over cases of illegal war, known as a crime of aggression.

From July 2018, heads of state will be able to be prosecuted not just for what happens during a war, but also for going to war illegally.
