Master on the myth of ‘national unity’

This week's issue of the New Statesman features a comment piece by Mark Damazer CBE, Master of St Peter's, on the issue of ‘national unity’.

Held by politicians as both a desirable and achievable goal, including by both contenders for the Conservative leadership, the Master examines whether it is really possible to achieve mass togetherness, or whether the political class, along with the public they serve, need a more realistic yardstick to understand political achievement.
