Danny Dorling TEDx Talk

Back in April, Prof Danny Dorling, Halford Mackinder Chair in Geography at St Peter's, gave a talk at TEDxExeter, a local program associated with the worldwide TED initiative.

The talk, which examines what the world looks like when you use different data sets, was recently highligted on the main TED site, and has so far had over 100,000 views. It is only the sixth ever TedxExeter talk to be featured on TED.com.

Using beautiful and unfamiliar world maps created by Ben Hennig (and shown in colour for the first time), Prof Dorling shows the audience that in many ways life is slowly getting better and there’s much to be optimistic about, as long as we continue to connect with each other.
