2020 Brandon Wilson Essay Prize Winners Announced

Congratulations are due to Mark De Courcy Ling (2016, Portuguese and Russian) and Una Yates (2017, History), who have been announced as the winners of this year's Brandon Wilson Essay Prize.

The Brandon Wilson Prize is open to all students at St Peter's. Essays can be on any topic of their choosing, with the winning entries being judged by the editors of the College Record

The winning essays this year were "From Africa to the Amazon: Stories of Disruption", in which Mark De Courcy Ling reflects upon his experiences working with Amazon tribes in Brazil and the stories of disruption that have defined the indigenous experience in Latin America, and "Inside the Cage: ‘Coercive Control’ Is the Key to a More Nuanced Understanding of Domestic Abuse", in which Una Yates explores one of the lesser-known ways in which domestic abuse is defined and prosecuted in the UK.

This year's winning entries can be read here (Mark De Courcy Ling) and here (Una Yates).
