The Chavasse Family in World War I

Duty, Courage, Faith: The Chavasse Family in World War I

To mark the centenary of World War I, St Peter's hosted a series of events throughout 2016 and 2017 to commemorate the remarkable role played in the conflict by the Chavasse family, its founders.

These celebrations included an exhibition of rare archive material held by St Peter’s and other institutions, a series of commemorative lectures delivered by distinguished speakers, a special Chavasse Evensong and two unveilings.

This page allows you to explore in detail the history of this remarkable family and to learn more about the events themselves.
