Candlelight Service of Readings and Music for Advent and Christmas

Carols by candlelight 

You are warmly invited to join the St Peter's College Choir for our annual candlelight service of readings and music for Advent and Christmas. This service is offered on two dates, Sunday, 26 November and Thursday, 30 November 2023 (please note the slightly different times for each date).

Led by our Director of Music Quintin Beer, the Choir of St Peter’s College is one of the finest mixed-voice choirs at the University of Oxford. It comprises 25 auditioned students and has an established reputation in Oxford, and further afield, for its choral excellence and diverse repertoire. During University term, the Choir sings two Choral Evensongs in chapel per week in our beautiful and acoustically impressive College Chapel.

As with all Evensong services, the candlelight service of readings and music for Advent and Christmas is free and all are welcome to attend. However, please note that our carol services are often fully subscribed and we strongly advise you to book early to avoid disappointment at the door.

There will be a retiring collection in aid of Oxford Winter Night Shelter.
