The choir’s repertoire encompasses the full spectrum of the Anglican choral tradition from sixteenth century polyphony to music of the present day, including works specially written for the choir. Notable recent commissions are the Anthem for St Peter’s Day with words by Francis Warner and music by David Goode, and 'The Lord is My Light' by Phillip Cooke (2010).
An important feature of the choir’s work is the regular performances of large scale choral works with professional orchestral accompaniment. Recent programmes have included Bach cantatas and motets, Handel’s Dixit Dominus, Schütz’s Christmas Story and Bruckner’s Mass No 2 in E minor. J.S.Bach’s Matthäus Passion is given in its entirety on a two yearly cycle together with other choral works and semi-staged operas according to the enthusiasms of the students at any given time.
