Revd Dr Michael WareChaplain

The Reverend Dr Michael Ward conducts the Chapel services and is a member of the Welfare Team. His study is on Besse Staircase, Room 5, and he is available to all members of College who may wish to consult him for whatever reason. His academic interests are chiefly in the area of theological imagination. His book Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C.S. Lewis (OUP, 2008) was the subject of a BBC television documentary in 2009; he has also co-edited The Cambridge Companion to C.S. Lewis (CUP, 2010). His chief claim to fame is that he handed Pierce Brosnan a pair of X-ray spectacles in the James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough . Director of MusicRoger Allen

Dr Roger Allen specialises in music of the late nineteenth century with research interests in Wagner and Bruckner and associated issues in the philosophy and aesthetics of music. He is editor of the Journal of the Wagner Society of London and current research projects include the preparation of new critical translation of some of Wagner's prose works. He is also active as a performer and contributes to the musical life of St Peter's as pianist, organist and conductor.

Theo LesterSenior Organ Scholar

Theo Lester began his musical career at the age of 10 singing as a chorister in the world-famous King’s College Cambridge chapel choir, where he also had his first tuition on the organ with David Goode. Previously Theo had played the piano, from 6 years old, and the violin from 7. After being awarded a major music scholarship to Uppingham School in 2003, he studied there for 5 years, becoming Senior Organ Scholar and leading the chapel choir in his final year. Recently he has spent a year in New Zealand, working in the music department of Wanganui Collegiate School under the guidance of organist Nicholas Grigsby, a renowned international recitalist. In late 2008, Theo was awarded an organscholarship and a position to read music at St Peter’s College where he now studies organ under Stephen Farr, and at the end of his first year of studies was elected to become Conductor of the Oxford University Student Chorus by its membership.

David QuinnJunior Organ Scholar

David Quinn began his musical career at the age of eight as a Chorister at Durham Cathedral. He was appointed Head Chorister in his final year and began organ tuition from James Lancelot in his final term. In 2004 he moved to Durham School as a music scholar where he continued to study the organ with Roger Muttitt. In the five years David spent at Durham he was awarded various scholarships, notably in 2007 at the Charles Wood Summer School in Armagh to study choral directing and in 2008 at the RSCM Summer School in Bath as one of two organ scholars. He also held the position of organist at St Mary's Parish Church in Horden between July 2007 and September 2010. After sixth form David spent a gap year as the organ scholar at Newcastle Cathedral where he continued his organ tuition with Michael Stoddart and received lessons in conducting from David Stevens. David is currently the junior organ scholar at St Peter's College where he is reading music.
