This page will contain continually updated information for students who have applied to St Peter's in 2009, for entry in 2010 or 2011. Please keep checking back for the latest updates, and check carefully to see if the answer to any questions you have is on this page before contacting us. If you do have any queries which are not dealt with here you can contact the Admissions Office on admissions@spc.ox.ac.uk or +44 (0)1865 278863.
18 Dec - Thank you all for coming to interview at St Peter's. We have now made most of our decisions, and posted most of the letters today by first class post. There are still a few outstanding decisions and letters which will be sent on Monday, when we also hope to be able to email copies of our decisions to candidates outside the UK. Please do not ring the College asking if you have got a place, as we are unable to give this information over the phone.
The College will close for Christmas on Monday, and we re-open on 4th January.
10 Dec - Information for applicants arriving over the coming weekend. The last meal available in the College dining hall this week will be breakfast on Saturday 12th December. The first meal available for next week will be dinner on Sunday 13th December. If you are planning to be in Oxford between these two times then please make sure you have enough cash to purchase meals. Our team of student helpers will be able to suggest good places to buy food and/or to eat in the vicinity of the college.
4 Dec - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Biological Sciences
3 Dec - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Physics, Physiological Sciences
2 Dec - Important information for candidates arriving in Oxford on Saturday 5th or Sunday 6th December. Please note that there will be no meals available in colleges on these days, as none of you are required to arrive before 8pm, and the number who have indicated they will arrive earlier than this is too small to justify opening the kitchens. The first meal for candidates will be breakfast on Monday 7th December.
2 Dec - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Medicine.
1 Dec - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Economics & Management, Maths, Archaeology & Anthropology.
30 Nov - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Chemistry, some Economics & Management (the rest will be sent tomorrow).
27 Nov - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: PPE, English, Theology, Law
26 Nov - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: History, Modern Languages, History of Art
19 Nov - Please do not email the office asking when your interview letters will be sent out. A lot of work goes into deciding who to interview, and we cannot make the process any quicker than it is. For overseas students needing visas we unfortunately cannot guarantee to give you notification of interview in time for you to get a visa. If you are unable to get a visa to come to Oxford then we will try to interview you by telephone, Skype, or video-conference, and this will not adversely affect your application.
18 Nov - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Music, Geography
11 Nov - Emails regarding interviews have been sent to candidates in the following subjects: Earth Sciences, Biochemistry
3 Nov - Students from the UK or Europe who are invited to interview are expected to attend in Oxford. Students from the rest of the world who are shortlisted for interview are invited to attend in Oxford, but if they are unable to do so we will consider their application in other ways, which may include interview by telephone, Skype, or videoconference. If you are resident outside Europe please email admissions@spc.ox.ac.uk to confirm whether or not you are able to attend interview in Oxford if asked. Please do this even if you have already emailed us about this, so we can ensure we have an accurate record.
3 Nov - UCAS forms have now been distributed to tutors. Good luck to those of you sitting Admissions tests tomorrow!
22 Oct - The address for any written work which you need to submit is Admissions Office, St Peter's College, Oxford, OX1 2DL.
21 Oct - We have now received all applications from candidates who applied to St Peter's, and from those who made Open Applications who have been allocated to us (with the exception of applicants for Medicine or Physiological Sciences, who are administered centrally). Acknowledgements for applications will be sent by email later today or tomorrow.
All correspondence you receive from us will be by email, with the exception of the final decision letters which will be sent by post. Our systems do not have a live link to UCAS, so it is essential that if your postal or email addresses change at any point you let us know directly (by email to admissions@spc.ox.ac.uk), as well as updating the UCAS site - otherwise we will send correspondence to the addresses supplied on your original application.
