Academic-related and Administrative


St Peter’s College intends to appoint an Assistant Junior Dean to commence on 1 October 2014. The Assistant Junior Dean assists the Dean (Dr Roger Allen) and Junior Dean (Kate Mitchell wef January 2015) in enforcing the rules and regulations of the College and in ensuring the general safety and welfare of its members.

The Assistant Junior Dean will be will be provided with all meals and accommodation free of charge. The post is offered for one year in the first instance with the possibility of renewal for up to two further years or until his or her postgraduate course comes to an end, whichever is the sooner. The stipend is currently £2,904 pa and is subject to review.

Applicants are asked to arrange for their referees to send references directly to the Fellows’ Secretary by the closing date. If the applicant is already a member of the University reading for a postgraduate degree, one of the referees should be the applicant’s University supervisor.

Housekeeping and Catering


We are looking for enthusiastic waiting staff to join the friendly Dining Hall team.  Duties will involve serving food, clearing and setting tables, serving drinks at functions and some cleaning duties.

Applicants should be able to work mainly evenings and weekends on a flexible casual basis.  Previous experience would be an advantage.  References will be required.  The hourly rate is £7.06 per hour.

Recruitment Monitoring

The policy and practice of St Peter’s College require that entry into employment with the College and progression within employment will be determined only by personal merit and the application of criteria which are related to the duties of each particular post.
